15 Examples of the Law of Attraction in the Bible

Law of Attraction in the Bible

The world woke up to the amazing philosophy of the law of attraction with the release of the movie The Secret. The immense media coverage the movie received made the general public sit up and take notice.

The law of attraction is not a new concept. The term “law of attraction” was coined in the late 19th century but the concept is as old as mankind itself. There is evidence of our awareness of its existence in early religious texts including the Bible.

This may leave you wondering, “Is the law of attraction biblical? Is there proof of the law of attraction in the Bible?”.

While in the law of attraction the higher power is mentioned as the Universe to maintain a secular approach and accommodate people from all faiths and religions, in the Bible, it is replaced with God.

One of the fundamental teachings in the Bible is “With God all things are possible” – Mathew 19:26.

This article takes a look at the instances in the Bible where the principles of the law of attraction are evident. You will find here numerous examples of such instances.

What does the Bible say about the law of attraction?

“See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.” – Colossians 2:8

This is often quoted by those who say the law of attraction is against the basic tenets of the Bible. This is merely a case of misunderstanding and misconception. If you take the pains to dig deeper and understand the core concepts of both, you will find numerous parallels.

The Bible says,

God has a plan and purpose for your life. This is true for every single human being in this Universe. And, it is in the good sense – not for disaster but for hope.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

God wants you to be happy, content, and peaceful in your life. God wants you to experience love and abundance.

“… I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly.” – John 10:10

What does the Bible say about manifestation?

Many believe that the concept of manifesting your goals and desires goes against the spirit of Christianity and the teachings of the Bible. It cannot be further from the truth.

If you care to look closely enough, you will realize that the meaning and intention are the same.

In the Bible, you will find,

God wants you to achieve your dreams and realize your goals. The Bible is clear that only then you will bring glory and honor to Him.

“I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 3:14

God doesn’t want you to stress about anything but just focus your energy on prayers. All you need to do is do good deeds, feel grateful, and make the request.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” –  Philippians 4:6

Concluding thoughts

The law of attraction and God are intrinsically linked in many ways. Maybe the terminology used is different and the way the concept is expressed and presented vary. Neither the law of attraction says there is no God or asks you not to believe in one, nor does the Bible say the concept of the law of attraction is impossible or not to be followed.

Finding the connection is all about outlooks and perspectives. Read the Bible with the right mindset and understand the law of attraction and manifestation with the right approach. You will find that they offer the same teachings.
